Caption

Pigmentary retinopathy. Fundoscopy image of the retina of a patient's left eye in a case of a pigmentary retinopathy, also known as retinitis pigmentosa, a form of retinal dystrophy. The retina is the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited degenerative eye disease that leads to severe visual impairment caused by the degeneration of the rod photoreceptor cells in the retina. This image shows pigmentary retinopathy with bull's eye maculopathy (a drug-related form of retinal damage known as chloroquine retinopathy).
