Caption

Computer illustration of influenza (flu) viruses. The virus had an RNA (ribonucleic acid) genome. On the viral surface are three proteins: hemagglutinin (white), neuraminidase (yellow) and M2 proteins (beige). Hemagglutinin and neuraminidase determine the strain of the virus. M2 proteins are proton pumps.
