Caption

In this type of aneurysm, the inner wall of the aorta (intima) detaches from the outer wall (media). The blood invades the created space and generates a bulge that can rupture. The normal route of the blood appears in red, the aneurysm is in purple. The aneurysm extends from the abdominal aorta to the common iliac arteries and is causing a dysfunction of the left kidney.
