Nitroglycerin. Computer model of a molecule of the drug nitroglycerine. It is also known as nitroglycerin, trinitroglycerin and glyceryl trinitrate. It is a vasodilator drug, used to treat heart conditions such as angina. Nitroglycerine is also used in the manufacture of explosives. The molecule's chemical formula is C3.H5.N3.O9. Atoms (spheres) are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (light blue), nitrogen (dark blue), oxygen (orange).
