Timelapse footage of the mycelium of a Mucor sp. mould growing in soil. Mycelium is the vegetative part of a fungus, and is formed of a network of thin hyphae, which absorb nutrients from the substrate. Cytoplasm can be seen streaming through the hyphae in places. Mucor is a common mould in soil and on rotting plants. Filmed over 225 minutes, with a frame captured every minute. Magnification around x11 on the sensor.
