Blood sampling vacutainers. Vacutainers at a general practice (GP) clinic that have been used to take a blood sample from a patient. They are colour-coded depending on the test required. The samples of blood will be labelled and sent for testing. Blood is analysed for levels of components such as cholesterol and glucose, for pathogens like bacteria and viruses, and to determine a person's blood group. Photographed in Edinburgh, Scotland.
