Geminid meteor over Tenerife volcano. Time-exposure image of a meteor trail in the night sky over Teide volcano on Tenerife. Nebulae and star clusters are also seen in the night sky. The Geminids are a meteor shower that occurs annually in December. It is caused by debris from an object named 3200 Phaethon, thought to be an extinct comet.
