Worker resting at a pyramid site, Egypt. There are more than forty known pyramids in Egypt, dating to the time of Ancient Egypt. The stone used for the pyramids was usually limestone, carved into the blocks seen here. A finer grade of limestone was then used for the smooth outer casing. Pyramids are a major tourist attraction in Egypt, as well as being the site of archaeological excavations.
