Caption

Lead sulphide precipitate. Lead sulphide (PbS) precipitate (black) formed by adding 0.25 M solution of lead nitrate (Pb (NO3)2) drop by drop to 0.25 M solution of sodium sulphide (Na2S). The reaction is Na2S + Pb (NO3)2 -> PbS + NaNO3. This is an example of a double replacement reaction.
