This axial (cross sectional) gradient echo T2 weighted MRI shows the typical appearance of a cavernous malformation. There is increased magnetic susceptibility of the malformation because of the enhanced susceptibility typically seen of blood/haemorrhagic products on gradient echo (blood sensitive) MRI techniques. It is located in the left side of the corpus callosum/periventricular region.
