Eye examination. Doctor using a keratometer to measure the curvature of the cornea of a patient's eye. Measuring the degree of irregular curvature allows an assessment of the severity of the condition, known as astigmatism, and hence what treatment is appropriate. For mild cases, corrective lenses can be prescribed. For severe cases, surgery may be needed. This keratometer is the Nidek ARK-700A model.
