This axial (cross section) CT image without contrast shows very large bilateral isodense/subacute subdural hematomas which are almost impossible to detect. There is a small device along the occipital scalp which represents a shunt catheter. This patient developed the subdural hematomas secondary to, to rapid shunting with to fast reduction in ventricular size.
