This lateral view (from the side) from a catheter cerebral angiogram during the mid arterial phase shows an enlarged anterior cerebral artery with direct shunting into a dilated venous pouch (varix) with subsequent flow into the superior sagittal sinus. This is the typical appearance of a direct Arterial-Venous fistula. This is one type of intracranial high flow vascular malformations.
