Dune of Pilat. Aerial footage travelling from the inland forest of Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park, over the Dune of Pilat (Dune du Pilat) with views of ocean. The Dune of Pilat, a type of dune known as a foredune, is the tallest sand dune in Europe, reaching a height of over 100 metres. It measures 2.7 kilometres in length and is 500 metres wide. It is located on the Atlantic coast of the Aquitaine region of south-western France.
