Illustration page from Philosophical Transactions. Double fold-out page with illustrations and diagrams from a 1665 issue of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London'. These illustrations precede page 79 of volume 1, and accompany issue 5, dated 3 July 1665. The first illustration (left) is on the subject of 'how adits and mines are wrought at liege without air-shafts', communicated by Sir Robert Moray. The second and third illustrations (centre) are of devices used to break rocks. The fourth illustration (right) is from 'observations upon a monstrous head' by Robert Boyle. The descriptions are on pages 81-2, 83-4 and 85-6.
