Flour beetle (family: Tenebrionidae), coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). The head is at upper centre, with the compound eyes (red) visible. This is the underside of the beetle, showing its legs and antennae. Flour beetles are adapted to survive in very dry environments. They are a major pest of stored cereals and wheat products.
