Nauplius larva of Cyclops copepod, light microscopy footage. Cyclops is a very common type of freshwater copepod. The larva goes through several stages, the first of which are the nauplius stages. Copepods are microscopic aquatic crustaceans. They are the main constituent of zooplankton and are an important food source for other marine animals. They feed on other microscopic animals and plants.
