Caption

Spider bite. The hand of a 60-year-old female patient who was bitten on the little finger five days earlier by a false black widow spider (Steatoda nobilis). The symptoms of a bite from this species are similar to a bee or wasp sting, with temporary pain and swelling, but are sometimes accompanied by feverishness and malaise. See C037/0965 for the patient's hand soon after the bite occurred.
