Upper trachea. 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of the upper part of the trachea (windpipe) at the level of the top of the rib cage. The interior of the trachea is visible, along with the rings of cartilage that hold the airway open. The upper ribs are either side, with the oesophagus (gullet) at lower centre.
