Microscope footage of a snipe fly (family Rhagionidae) fossilised in amber. This piece of amber is 50 million years old and dates to the early Eocene epoch. It was found in what is now Poland. Amber is the fossilised resin of coniferous trees, and often contains insects and other small animals, providing valuable insights into the ecosystems at the time.
