Fish fossil. Rock containing a fossil of a Phareodus testi fish. As with nearly all Pharedosus fossils this specimen was found in the Green River Formation, Wyoming, USA. This formation dates to around 50 million years ago, during the Eocene epoch. Living relatives of this extinct fish are found in tropical waters in South America, Africa and Asia. This specimen is 40 centimetres in length.
