Homo antecessor fossil. Skull illustration with a fossil skull fragment of an extinct hominin species that forms part of the human evolutionary tree. This fragment is part of a Homo antecessor skull. H. antecessor lived between 1.2 and 0.8 million years ago, with fossils found in 1994 and 1995 at the Gran Dolina site, in the Atapuerca foothills of northern Spain.
