Colon polyp, endoscope view. This is a voluminous (large) sessile polyp discovered in the right-hand section of the colon. It is 3 centimetres long. Polyps are benign growths. They can be flat (sessile) or on a stalk (pedunculated). If they turn cancerous, or grow large enough to obstruct the colon, they are surgically removed.
