Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. Axial magnetic resonance (MRI) scan through the brain of a 5-year-old girl with a pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) in the left temporal lobe (lower right). This brain tumour mostly affects children and teenagers. It is a type of astrocytoma, a brain tumour that arises from the brain's astrocyte cells. Treatment is usually with surgery.
