Leaf-nosed fruit bat (Artibeus sp.), illustration. Known as the neotropical fruit bats, these bats are found in Central and South America, and parts of the Caribbean. Like other leaf-nosed bats, there is a leaf-like structure on the nose that is used for echolocation. This nocturnal bat feeds mostly on fruit.
