Procoptodon prehistoric kangaroo, illustration. This extinct prehistoric marsupial lived in Australia during the Pleistocene (2.5 million to 11,000 years ago). It is thought it went extinct around 50,000 years ago. It is the largest kangaroo known, reaching 2 metres in height.
