Entelodon, illustration. This extinct prehistoric mammal is an example of an entelodont, a pig-like omnivore. It lived from 37 to 28 million years ago, from the Late Eocene to the Early Oligocene. It was about 1.35 metres tall at the shoulder. Its fossils have been found in Europe and Asia.
