Caption

Fibroepithelial polyp on the inner lower lip of a six month old baby girl's mouth. This is a benign (non-cancerous) growth on the tongue's mucous membrane. The polyp, also called an acrochordon or skin tag, consists of fibrous tissue surrounded by a layer of epithelial cells. The polyp can be surgically removed if it causes discomfort.
