Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) in flight after catching its fish prey. This bird of prey is found near coastal and inland waters throughout the world. It feeds on fish, either watching from a waterside perch or flying or hovering over the water. When it spots a fish it dives on it with its talons and lifts it from the water, taking it back to a perch to eat. It can reach a length of around 60 centimetres with a wingspan of around 1.7 metres.
