Tarbosaurus dinosaur, illustration. This large bipedal predator was a member of the Tyrannosauridae. It weighed more than a ton and its mouth was equipped with dozens of large, sharp teeth and a unique locking mechanism in its lower jaw. It lived in Asia at the end of the Late Cretaceous Period (70-65 million years ago).
