Red peppers drying. These are the fruit of the apiscum plant, which is native to the Americas. This fruit is used in cooking, with some varieties being used as a spice. It is cultivated in large numbers in the tropical and subtropical regions of Central American and South America. The peppers are spread on the ground to dry in the sunlight after harvesting. Photographed in Argentina.
