Salt flat mining. This is the Salinas Grandes, Argentina, the remains of an ancient sea that dried up. Piles of salt have been mined in square patches, revealing the salty water below the salt crust. This salt flat has an area of 8290 square kilometres, and is located high in the Sierras de Cordoba mountains.
