Crop climate change research. Varieties of wheat (Triticum sp.) being grown in a semi-controlled environment to determine their resistance to climate change. Small plots are cultivated with controlled water supplies. The reaction of each variety to water stress shows the plants' ability to adapt to future global climate conditions. In case of rain, a roof (background) unfolds to protect the crops and thus manage the water supply. here, the plants are covered with bags to prevent them from being fertilised by other varieties. Photographed at the INRA (Institut national de la recherche agronomique) near Clermont-Ferrand, France.
