Post-operative cranioplasty scar. This operation (to repair a skull defect) was carried out on this female patient to remove a dermoid cyst that had been present since birth. Dermoid cysts are abnormal growths, also called teratomas. They can be made up of hair, teeth, fluid or skin glands, but are benign (non-cancerous).
