Ulrich Zwingli (1484-1531), Swiss priest and theologian. Zwingli was one of the leaders of the Reformation in Switzerland, the movement that attempted to reform the Catholic Church and led to conversions to Protestantism. Zwingli studied and preached in the renaissance humanism tradition that aimed to revive the cultural, literal and philosophical legacy of classical antiquity.
