Acute photosensitive eczema on the shoulders of a 70-year-old male patient. Photosensitive eczema is a red, itchy rash caused by exposure to sunlight. This type of photosensitive reaction sometimes occurs as an allergic response to certain drugs, lotions, perfumes, etc.. Exposure to sunlight can also aggravate an already-present eczematous rash.
