Lentiginosis. Pigmented spots (lentigines) on the chest of a 12-year-old boy with lentiginosis. Lentiginosis is the presence of lentigines in large numbers on the skin. They are caused by sun exposure and, although benign (non-cancerous), they may be a sign of a more serious underlying problem.
