Common dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) being anaesthetised in a gas chamber prior to having a microchip placed in its skin to aid research monitoring. This work is part of a research project at the North Wales Wildlife Trust in conjunction with a research team from Chester Zoo. Photographed in 2014, in Denbigh, Denbighshire, UK.
