Decommissioned DELPHI detector inside the LHC beauty (LHCb) experiment of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC is the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator. It is designed to create high energy substances, such as quark-gluon plasma, thought to exist very early in the universe's history. The LHCb experiment is one of seven particle physics detector experiments at the LHC and is a specialized b-physics experiment, designed to measure the parameters of CP violation in the interactions of b-hadrons (heavy particles containing a bottom quark). DELPHI (Detector with Lepton, Photon and Hadron Identification) was one of the four main detectors of the Large Electron-Positron Collider (LEP) at CERN.
