Caption

Adult Springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis) with its newborn fawn, which is also called a lamb. A single young springbuck is born after a 6 month gestation period and although it can run shortly after it is born, adults often leave their fawns in a nursery herd, whilst the herd forages. This gazelle-like antelope inhabits the open dry plains of southern Africa, feeding on grass, leaves and shoots. Filmed in the Auob riverbed of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, southern Africa.
