Reaction between ethanoic acid (CH3COOH), found in vinegar, and baking soda, or sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3). The reaction produces bubbles of carbon dioxide gas, as well as sodium chloride and water. The equation is: HCl + NaHCO3 --> NaCl + CO2 + H2O.
