Ladybird mimic spider (Paraplectana sp.). Spiders of this genus mimic the bright colouration of ladybirds. Ladybirds' distinctive colour and markings warn predators of their toxicity. Spiders of the genus Paraplectana exhibit Batesian mimicry, where a palatable organism imitates the appearance of a noxious one, in order to avoid being eaten by predators.
