Caption

Villous colon polyp, light micrograph. This specimen shows tissue from a villous adenoma, a rare form of colon polyp. These adenomas consist of villous components, rather than the tubular or mixed components of other colon polyps. This specimen shows complex branching glands. The villous processes are lined by columnar epithelium with low-grade dysplasia. Colon polyps can turn cancerous. Haematoxylin and eosin stain.
