Inner ear and brain structures. Coloured rotating 3D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the anatomy of the inner ear and associated brain structures. The start of this view shows the internal auditory meatus (IAM) at centre, with the inner ear at left. The cranial nerves (CN VII, facial nerve; and CN VIII, vestibulocochlear nerve) cross the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) at centre right, which is between the cerebellum and the pons. The pink areas at far right (at the start of the clip) are parts of the brain.
