Hercules and the Cercopes, 5th century BC sculpture. The Cercopes brothers are mythological mischief figures sometimes named as Passalos and Acmon. According to legend they were captured by Greek hero Hercules and hung downwards from a shoulder pole, as shown here. This is how they are typically depicted in Greek art. Artwork published in 1887.
