Tyrannosaurus fighting triceratops. Computer illustration of a Tyrannosaurus sp. dinosaur (top left) fighting a triceratops sp. dinosaur (right). Tyrannosaurs and Triceratops lived around 68 to 66 million years ago, during the Maastrichtian age of the Late Cretaceous Period. They were found throughout what is now western North America, on what was then an island continent known as Laramidia. Here, the Tyrannosaurus is depicted with a mantle of fur-like feathers as some studies now suggest they had.
