Paranthropus robustus. Illustration and reconstruction of the extinct hominin Paranthropus robustus, also known as Australopithecus robustus. It lived between 2 and 1.2 million years ago. The original fossils were discovered in southern Africa in 1938. This hominin forms part of the human evolutionary fossil record.
