Fish sheltering in marine waste. Black goby (Gobius niger) sheltering on the seabed in a piece of discarded waste that has become encrusted with seaweed. Waste that is not biodegradable will persist in the environment if not disposed of correctly. Such waste can have a severe long-term effect on the marine environment, but can also provide habitats and shelter for a variety of marine organisms. Photographed in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Spain.
