Either side of Alnitak are two nebulae (red): the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) at left and IC 434 at right, which includes the dark Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33). At lower centre, is the bright emission nebula, the Orion Nebula (M42, NGC 1976). The bright star Rigel is at top right. This image was obtained using an airglow filter.
