Storm clouds and Moon over Lake Manasarovar at night. This view looks south over the lake, with a flash of lightning on the horizon. At upper right, the bright object obscured by clouds is the Moon, with the planet Saturn also seen at centre right. The yellow-red object at left of upper centre is the star Antares. Lake Manasarovar is a high-altitude (4590 metres) freshwater lake, formed from meltwater from the Kailash glaciers on nearby Mount Kailash. The lake and mountains are in Tibet in western China. The mountains seen here include Gurla Mandhata (7694 metres, centre left). Photographed in Ngari Prefecture, Tibet, China, on 28 September 2014.
